2025 Annual Member Summit Highlights
The AMGTA Annual Member Summit brings AMGTA members and invited guests together to connect, collaborate, explore, and discuss how we can leverage the environmental benefits of additive manufacturing to drive industry growth, increase adoption, and build a more sustainable world.
Industry leaders, professionals, experts, and key stakeholders gathered at the beautiful Shinola Hotel in Detroit on Monday, April 7, for the 2025 Annual Member Summit to engage in a full day of insights, networking, knowledge sharing, breakout sessions, and recognition of achievements advancing sustainability.
Richard Voorberg, President of Siemens Energy – North America, was the 2025 Annual Member Summit keynote speaker. Rich has regional responsibility for the Siemens Energy business in the Americas, which includes the company’s Generation, Industrial Applications, Renewables/Wind, and Transmission divisions. Throughout his career, Rich has had the privilege to live and work in several different locations, including Canada, Indonesia, Argentina, Korea, and Germany.
“Some of the hottest parts of the gas turbines are being 3-D printed, and it’s not just because the process is easier, which is one reason, but there are things we simply can’t do with traditional manufacturing that additive manufacturing now allows.” – Rich Voorberg, Siemens Energy, stated during 2025 Annual Member Summit keynote

Expert Panel Discussion
“AI in Additive Manufacturing: Implications for Sustainability”
Executive Director Sherri Monroe moderated the panel discussion with industry experts Ramesh Subramanian, Jason Gorey, Howie Marotto, and Brian Neff.
“Workforce development is key to realizing the full potential of AI, but universities need a strong understanding of real-world production.”
– Ramesh Subramanian, Siemens Energy
“There are plenty of opportunities, and if we collaborate to ensure we are successful, that will go a long way.”
– Jason Gorey, Stifel Financial
“We need to inform and teach AI, it is not smart on its own, we must build the algorithm. ”
– Howie Marotto, The Barnes Global Advisors
“Some say AI can determine if a part is good for additive, but it’s not that simple. You can’t always look at it through an AI lens and say it’s a good part.”
– Brian Neff, Sintavia

Leadership Perspectives
Dr. Dean Bartles sat down for a one-on-one conversation with Executive Director Sherri Monroe to share his perspectives on manufacturing in today’s complex and dynamic global environment. Dean is a seasoned operations professional with four decades of management experience in manufacturing and technology. He is currently the President and CEO of the Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group, Inc. a not for profit holding company of both the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) and Advanced Manufacturing International, Inc. (AMI).
“I’m a huge fan of sustainability. Ideally, companies are going to still want the option of three buttons – quick turnaround, most cost-effective, and sustainability.” – Dr. Dean Bartles, MTDG, stated during the One-on-One Conversation
